Holiday Roar

On Friday, January 30th Green Lion Productions hosted its first annual "Holiday Roar," under the bridge at the extremely erotic Hengst Studio. The night was an overwhelming success that stretched till dawn and featured some of Seattle’s finest underground hip–hop, world music and experimental rock.

KEXP’s DJ Darek Mazzone set the vibe with a mesmerizing mix of world rhythms. Next came the insightful rhymes and thick beats of the "Illegitimate Children," Grieves and Type. To cap off the evening, locally–infamous experimental sextet Sambusa blew everyone away with a two–and–a–half–hour–long not–stop set filled with incredible energy and sexual soul.

With plenty of fine quality brew courtesy of New Belgium Brewery and a range of classic sodas from Real Soda, we were able to keep people delightfully buzzed and caffeinated. Thanks to Jeffery Hengst, the bands and all of our amazing volunteers and sponsors, this party went off without a hitch.
