Compilation Nears Completion
With the recent additions of Grammy Award winning Sweet Honey in the Rock, Senegalese hip hop artists and BBC’s Best of Africa Daara J, international superstar Femi Kuti, and Bay Area hip hop group The Gift of Gab, the artist roster for Break the Chains! Compilation album has come to a close. This music mobilization campaign is produced in conjunction with and benefit for Jubilee USA – the United States wing of a 60 country movement to unconditionally cancel debt paid by the Global South to the IMF/World Bank. Iamedia is in production of our first film project: a feature–length documentary titled La ALBA Nueva. The film is to contrast traditional development of oil and water resources with alternative models emerging in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. Interviews captured during the 2006 World Social Forum in Caracas include Hector Ciavaldini, the ex–President of the Venezuelan Oil Company, Aleida Guevara, the eldest daughter of Che Guevara, and the Venezuelan hip hop group Los Reyeldes.
